Moh's Microscopic Surgery

Mohs microscopic surgery is a specialized surgical technique used to treat certain types of skin cancer, particularly basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. It is a highly precise procedure that removes cancerous tissue while preserving as much healthy skin as possible.
How Mohs Surgery Works
-
Layer-by-layer Removal- The surgeon removes a thin layer of skin containing the cancer cells.
-
Microscopic Examination- The tissue is examined under a microscope to determine if cancer cells remain
-
Repeat as Needed- If cancer cells are detected, the surgeon removes another layer and examines it again. This process continues until no cancer cells are found.
